I noticed that all Wards had schools closings except Ward 3. Perhaps someone may have knowledge as to why none of their schools were on the list.

Hello everyone,
I spoke to Kaya in the parking lot of Giant yesterday and she mentioned that her concern was to get the Money to the students and to educate them. Also, she also stated that she is not for getting rid of our real estate and has plans for their re-use. I believe her - she sounded very sincere - let's see how those re-use plans include our retention of our buildings.
Like I said -- I know she cares and I know that she is an intelligent woman. Oh, she said that she has everything that one would need to understand her decisions and we will have to wait and see. That we owe her. Just want everyone to understand that attrition works both ways!!
I am really interested in how this IFF study played a role in her decisions. If you are confused by this support for Kaya, understand that I am arguing points so that we do have parameters to work within.

Thanks Jackie,I've been told, from a few people, that Spingarn will be closed for one year to renovate and transform into a comprehensive vocational/career technical school. If you hear anything similar or different, please share.
Delano D. HunterGood afternoon all,In responses to the listserv conversation, the official list from DCPS has not gone out and will be released at 4:00pm. Let's give them an opportunity to share the information first and I encourage everyone to attend the DCSP community meeting and hearings.Jacqueline ManningChair 5B/ SMD5B09
