Don't believe the Hype -- We are less than 10th if we do the analysis using equal variables. Like the IFF study, the comparison on the educational systems don't adequately account for poverty. Poverty over here is not even close to poverty in other countries so it is like White folks in Washington DC telling us that they are not responsible for Slavery or the Effects of it.
While it may be true to the point of occurrence, the reality is that they have had certain advantages that if given to Blacks, we would do just as good or even turn out better becuase of an inherent hunger and struggle that has become genetic.
Now if I am talking to Whites in Oklahoma or some really poor area, then we may be having a different conversation as this greed and oppression has now trancended just Race -- it is like the myth or truth -- if AIDS was to be projected onto the Gay or Black community - it is in all communities now.
We need leadership -- Iet's all step forward!! Keep up the good work.

Low attendance is NOT the DCPS's fault -- its yes Im going to say it -- its the PARENT's FAULT. Aint no way in God's green earth my mother (a single two job working barely keeping her eyes open to help with my homework) would let me miss more than a week of school without me having my @ss handed to me.
Stop putting the burden on DCPS to get your kids to skool ppl. Thats just unsmart.

Unfortunatey, 40% of Spingarn students have missed over a month of school due to unexcused absences- that can't all be blamed on the government.If I'd missed over a month of school as a kid, my parents would have been sure to quickly remedy that.Sure, the DC public schools have a lot of work to do.
