[WardFive] Fw: NO MORE SYNTHETIC SALES | A Rally to End the Sale of Synthetic Marijuana in the District of Columbia

Hello, contacting the listsev to spread the word that several groups and elected officials have organized for "community change" against local businesses selling of synthetic marijuana (SM). They plan to have an organized rally to end the sale of SM.

Frank Malone, President of 100 Father's, Ward 5 resident and former Chair ANC 5 A has been involved in this movement and there is much work to be done. The synthetic marijuana can be found in locations around our schools and is very accessible. This is yet another important issue for parents, leaders, teachers and interested parties to tackle in terms of protecting our youth and communities.

We must hold businesses in our community accountable. They must take this unregulated and harmful synthetic marijuana out of our communities. It is known to have adverse health affects and risk.

Please join us as we support this initiative of community change. We will be in front of the Exxon Gas Station at 2651 Benning Rd. NE. This store sales synthetic marijuana to youth and is located across the street from four (4) DC Public 

schools. Community Conversations and meetings like those that we've led and recently, Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton and the Commission on Black Men & Boys, are an important step but we also need community action saying "Not in my home, not in my community, not in my Ward."

SHOW YOUR SUPPORT OF COMMUNITY CHANGE WITH US! 

If you are unable to attend, please help spread the word. This issue affects us all. "With that said, I am calling on you, our city leaders, our parents, and our community to outlaw the sale of synthetic marijuana and similar products that pack such a dangerous high. Hold our businesses accountable, educate our people, and stand to lead the charge for a healthier, drug free District and nation."
