[WardFive] Re: [ward5] Common Sense solution to Crummel and Spingarm Car Barn

Thanks on Golf.  Can we get back to

1.  First Phase on What (Aaron)?  Please share -- you seem to have information about the Car Barn that we don't.

2.  What Development on the former Benning Road Trash Site (Aaron)? Share that Information!!

3.  Solving both Crummel (Bus Parking) and Spingarm's Car Barn issues by utilizing one location that no one cares about -- The DC Owned former Benning Road Trash Facility.  Reinforce the Bridge and put the facilities out of sight in the Woods.  This is still close enough for folks to come learn how to fix a Train -- by the way -- howcome we don't have any training for our students on fixing existing trains and buses??

Rock Creek Park also has one (just up 16th) - but I think it's only a 9-holer, if I remember correctly.

The price of Langston actually isn't the lowest in the area as it is part of the three courses set in DC.

I'm not clear where you are talking about.  It should would be good if a group of citizens could tour together some of the areas of concern so that we could discuss the issues and generate ideas in a forum.

Good Evening Ward 5,I remember reading the other day that DC owns the former Benning RoadTrash Facility. So I am really missing something. I suggested thisas an option a very long time ago to be a solution for both theTrolley Barn and Bus Parking Lot.1. Why can't we reinforce the little bridge opposite the Golf Range onBenning Road and put the Trolley Barn there. Sure it will cost butwouldn't it open hide the Trolley Barn from view, open up Spingarm'sLand to be better utilized as it is on our School Property and it ison a main thoroughfare. Eventually, they would have to take on theexpense if they really wanted to make the city "trolley (expensivesubsidized streetcar) green" for our Ward 7 residents.2. Why can't they place the same Bus Barn right there on the samesite instead of at Crummel. That location on Benning Road is actuallycloser to Union Station and Makes much more sense. This leaves uswith a Crummel School for our City to do something productive with inthat community. This location would solve the problem for both issues that we arefacing. They have to reinforce that bridge anyways if they are goingto continue the Trolley line. Why not now?? As a community, we arenot going to protest that site and it is completely hidden from view. What else are we going to use that site for??Rob Ramson-- R.
