Friends of Rhode Island Avenue is working on getting folks out to testify in favor of the legislation that CM McDuffie and CM Brown recently put forward to move Rhode Island Avenue and North Capital Street into the Great Streets program, which would open up more avenues of funding.
The hearing is next Thur, Nov 8 at 1pm

Earlier this year Councilmember McDuffie introduced legislation to designate Rhode Island Avenue NE (and North Capitol Street) as "Great Streets." This will make it easier for those streets to get funding for infrastructure improvements, among other things.
The first hearing for this legislation is scheduled for next Thursday, November 8 at 11:00 AM, and we need to show the DC Council that we're serious about improving Rhode Island Avenue and that we want this legislation passed.
