My turn to hijack this mailing list, to let you know about the Savage Race this Sunday (July 4).

This year again, the Savage Race will be part of the Mid-Atlantic Downriver Cup (MAC), which includes races down the Lehigh, the Delaware, and the Tohickon. The MAC Champion will be designated for each category, by cumulating the scores obtained in all races.

Some basic information about the Savage race:
Entry fee is $10 (Online registration link HERE)
You can enter one of four categories: wildwater (M/F) or non-wildwater kayaks (M/F) (bring your long boats!).
There will be both a sprint race (starts at 11 am) and a classic race (starts at 2 pm). Feel free to enter either or both.
No shuttle will be provided

[WardFive] Dwight Mosely and Theodore Hagans playgrounds are CLOSED for repair till July 30th

The DC Department of Parks and Recreation and the DC Department of General Services would like to share with the community that Dwight Mosley and Theodore Hagans Playgrounds in Ward 5 will go offline due to resurfacing upgrades. Playgrounds will be closed Wednesday, July 14, 2021 through Friday, July 30, 2021, unless delays due to weather.

Additionally, the splash park at Langdon Pool is offline today (Wednesday, July 14). DPR is working to diagnose the issue so that we can provide you with an estimate for when it will be fixed.
