Re: cheat_training_group Re: Cheat Trip 4/21!

I would call the version I sent out the "Complete the Cheat Cheat Sheet."  Bobby's would be the "Compete the Cheat Cheat Sheet."  At this stage of the game, I am a Completer vs. a Competer!

Is this Cheat sheet designed to direct paddlers to the easiest lines or the fastest lines? Looking over the sheet, some of the lines are not the fastest ways to run the rapids. I will create another Cheat sheet with the fastest lines for those of you who are planning to race and want to gain an advantage.

Here is an updated version of the one page Cheat Canyon Cheat Sheet Jim Byron created.  I taped a laminated version of this on my boat deck during Saturday's run and it stayed in place.  My old eyes could read the point 22 font.  Let me know if folks have any suggested changes.  I'll bring 20 laminated copies and some duck tape with me on race day.

This has been a fantastic training program!  Special thanks to all the instructors and the rest of the LAKS staff!!

Hi Cheat Original,

Wednesday night, huh. How awesome was that?! Everyone paddled so well, pushed themselves, took huge waves to the head, and faced some serious fears. This should prepare us well for this weekend on the Cheat.

The level is predicted to be 4.39 on Saturday. It is higher than our first week but the character of the river will be much the same. Some of the smaller holes will be washed out and rocks padded. There will be big waves and big holes to avoid. The sneaks at Big Nasty, Maze, Coliseum should be open. You guys can bring your creek boats if you are more comfortable. But Green Boats are made for this kind of day!

Please meet at 7 am at the Park and Ride or 10:30 am at the put-in. To relieve some of the traffic on the take out road we will wait til Cheat Elite gets up to head down.

You guys should be talking about team names for the Cheat Race. I would love to see a LAKS Badass Butterflies, LAKS Sea Cucumber, LAKS Cheat-ah team racing- or what ever else your creative minds come up with.
