Neighbors, Growing up on North Capitol Street, I could not imagine myself as an elected leader in the District of Columbia representing my community and Ward 5 on the D.C. Council. So I am incredibly humbled to have won re-election on Tuesday with the support of over 22,000 Ward 5 residents.  Now it is time to show my gratitude to YOU, the volunteers and supporters who made Tuesday's victory possible.  Please join me tomorrow, Saturday, November 10 at the Ivy City Smokehouse, (1356 Okie Street NE) from 5:00 - 7:30 pm for a volunteer appreciation celebration. RSVP here. Working with residents, ANCs, community organizations, and everyone in between, I am proud of what we have - together - accomplished for Ward 5 and the District of Columbia. We have changed the trajectory of our criminal justice system in D.C., increased the amount of affordable housing being built, and support the drivers of our economy, our small businesses.
