[WardFive] #DC Statehood Mark-Up in Congress (Feb 11th) & Iowans for DC Statehood

• I returned from Iowa on Tuesday, and I am happy to report about our success in the Hawkeye state.  Thanks to the efforts of Iowans for #DCStatehood, we were able to have a good ground work leading to the Iowa Caucuses.  We had a bus with prominent #DCStatehood logos that circulated throughout Des Moines for a few days leading to election day.  We held Rallies in support of #DCStatehood, and during Caucus night we got on the floor in various precincts and made a plead to voters to introduce Resolutions in support of #DCStatehood, -many did.  Please visit http://dcireporter.com/dc-statehood-congressional-delegation-in-iowa/ for videos and photos of the events in Iowa.

• In case you have not heard, the Chair of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney (D-NY), announced that they will hold a mark-up on H.R. 51 (our DC Statehood Bill in the House of Representatives).  It has been more than 25 years since Congress held a mark-up on DC Statehood.  The mark-up will take place on Tuesday, February 11th, at 10:00am @ 2154 Rayburn House Office Building.  This mark-up is open to the public.  Please plan on attending, so we can continue to show Congress, and the Nation, how important DC Statehood is for us.  For updated details, or more information, please visit: https://www.showup4dc.com/

Maloney (D-NY), anunció que sostendrá una revisión de la propuesta de ley que convertiría la capital americana en un estado, H.R. 51 (nuestro proyecto de ley en la

Cámara de Representantes). Han pasado más de 25 años desde que el Congreso reviso una propuesta de estadidad para Washington DC. La revisión tendrá lugar el martes 11 de febrero a las 10:00 am, en el Congresson 2154 Rayburn House.  Este audiencia está abierto al público. Planee asistir para que
