[WardFive] Brookland MS Opening and Alley Usage

Good Evening Brookland Neighbors,

Happy Wednesday!

As you may know, the first day of school is right around the corner and the very first Brookland Middle School students will begin class on Monday August 24, 2015.  We at DGS are extremely proud of the design and construction of the school and appreciative of all the community participation that went into the project.

As the new school year begins, new patterns will emerge with respect to pedestrian and vehicle traffic in the area of the school.  Rest assured that both DCPS and DGS are working to make these patterns as safe as possible for students and their families and as efficient as possible for the overall neighborhood.  We will monitor this over the next several weeks and anticipate receiving your feedback as residents as we work to determine the best traffic procedures for the school going forward.

Lastly, please note that the final paving and striping of the school parking lot and alley will take place tomorrow and Friday August 21st.  Therefore, parking will not be permitted in the lot and ALLEY ACCESS WILL BE OFFLINE until the evening of Friday August 21.  We apologize for any inconvenience as we work to put these final touches together.

Thank you again for all of your support and patience over the course of the project.
