WASHINGTON, DC –  THEARC Theater in partnership with Wells Fargo are bringing the critically acclaimed play,"Black Angels Over Tuskegee" to Washington, DC for two dynamic performances, Thursday February 25,2016 and Friday, February 26, 2016 at 7:30 p.m.  To commemorate the opening of the first off-Broadway production featured at THEARC Theater, Rahman Branch, Director of the Mayor's Office on African American Affairs (OAAA), will serve as chair of special events planned for the production's east of the river debut.

"I am thrilled to be involved with this historic performance on its first run in the District, and in Ward 8," said Director Branch. "It is a fitting event to close out Black History Month because creating opportunities for our community to engage, particularly our youth, is key. I look forward to meeting local residents and working with the special host committee to welcome new friends to THEARC."

The award-winning, historical docudrama is a narrative of six men embarking upon a journey to become the first aviators in the United States Army Air Forces during a tumultuous era of racial segregation and Jim Crow idealism in twentieth century American history.
"We are thrilled to present this historic and educational production to our residents and partners east of the river, says Kimberly Douglas, Director of Theater Operations & Programming.

Washington, DC's vibrant arts and culture scene offers residents and guests diverse options for entertainment and THEARC Theater is committed to featuring quality events and productions for  residents living east of the Anacostia River.

"The special presentation of 'Black Angels Over Tuskegee' is an excellent opportunity for DC's arts community to experience all that THEARC has to offer," added Edmund Fleet, Executive Director of THEARC.
