You are receiving this message because my team and I greatly appreciate your support in my bid for the DC State Board of Education and believe your voice is critical regarding steps forward for education in Ward 5.
You should have received an invitation from our team for our Ward 5 Education Summit on Monday, July 23 to be held at Carolina Kitchen restaurant. See attached flyer for details.
The Ward 5 Education Summit is our team's effort to begin necessary conversations, to heighten knowledge of the state of our schools and to increase the urgency of improving our children's learning.
The Ward 5 Education Summit is an opportunity for all interested parties to do the following:
1) Build a sense of community with other Ward 5 stakeholders2) Learn about efforts already afoot in/around Ward 5 to improve schools3) Share issues that are top of mind to enlist support and take action4) To organize in order to take action5) Briefly hear from parent, teacher, school system, and non-profit leaders and educational organizations
Would you be willing to attend the Ward 5 Education Summit and serve as a table facilitator? Table facilitators will play an integral role in helping the conversations we have at the Summit move forward by sharing their experience and rooting conversations in the purpose of the event. To confirm, simply reply saying you're game.
