If you will be attending the ANC 5C meeting Wednesday, I want to let you know about three points of interest:
Commissioner Looper, ANC 5C03-Ft. Lincoln has resigned. Although he is still a DC resident in Ft. Lincoln, he has accepted temporary employment elsewhere in this great Nation.
The 5C03 vacancy is now in the hands of the Board of Election. Those of you residing within 5C03 and are interested in the Election to replace Commissioner Looper, please contact the Board of Elections (dcboe.org) for more information.
Also, with the arrival of four new ANC 5C Commissioners (currently that's 4 out of 6 Commissioners), their agendas seem to neither match the dignity of the Commission nor the advancement of our community. Many of you have complained or spoken out about this matter. In support of you, I have been threatened with the ousting of my position as Secretary of the 5C Commission by the majority of the 5C Commission. This is because of my refusal to sign Treasury Reports and Checks with NO supporting documents such as Bank Statements and Receipts.
Those of you who have attended the public ANC 5C monthly meetings have perhaps heard me ask for the Bank Statements and receipts from the Treasurer, Commissioner Montague. You heard him provide excuses such as there were too many pages to print out for the Commission's review.
FYI: The funds in the ANC account is for the community. They are your tax dollars which are given back to you in the form of Grants, limited to $3,500 that will benefit your community.
Finally, if you are interested in applying for a Grant from ANC 5C let me know and I will send you the information including the application form.
