NOTICE OF BIENNIAL MEETING and

ELECTION OF OFFICERS

June 24, 2013 (6:00 – 9:00 PM)*

 

On Monday, June 24, 2013, in accordance with Articles III, V & VI of the Constitution and By-Laws of the Ward 5 Democratic Committee, the Ward 5 Democratic Committee shall hold its Biennial Meeting for the purpose of electing officers.  Per requirements the following individuals have met the minimum qualifications and were nominated in the order below for the positions indicated:

The election shall be held at North Michigan Park Christian Church, 1600 Taylor Street NE (near intersection of Taylor and South Dakota Avenue) between the hours of 6:45 pm to 8:00 pm.* 

 

PARLIAMENTARY RULES:  The election shall be governed by the By-Laws of the Ward 5 Democrats and Robert’s Rules of Order, except as otherwise set forth in the Rules of the Day.  Ward 5 registered Democrats only will be able to vote.  Voter registration will be verified by the DC Board of Elections & Ethics voter rolls.  Voting will be conducted by ballot.  The Election shall be decided by a majority of those present and voting.  Proxy voting will not be allowed and voting by absentee ballot shall not be permitted.

 

VOTER ASSISTANCE:  Curbside voting will be provided for elderly, disabled, and handicapped voters.   

 

RULES OF THE DAY:  The final rules for conducting the election will be approved at a meeting of registered Ward 5 Democrats starting at 6:15 PM* followed by one (1) minutes introductory statements from all candidates.

 

ELECTION OFFICIALS:  The election shall be supervised by representatives of the DC Democratic State Committee (DC DSC) Party Organization & Functions Committee (POFC).  No Ward 5 Democrat is permitted to participate as an Election Official.
