cheat_training_group Update on Tom

Hey everyone,

I just heard from Ashley and Tom is sitting up in a chair and eating real food.  He's tough, and getting better every hour.  Everyone wants to help Tom in some way.  Right now, the best thing we can ask for are cards, love and good thoughts.  If you want to mail a card, he is at Suburban ICU room 3411, or you can mail them or drop them off at the office and we will make sure he gets them.

I am also looking ahead to Tom's return home from the hospital.  As we all know, Tom lives very simply, however I think some new things around the house might make things more comfortable as he returns home.  Just simple things in Tom's style that you may already have and do not need.  Here is a list of things I see as needs to replace and have clean for Tom as he comes home to recover.  If you have any of these things that you would like to give, please send me a personal e-mail to Katie.Routh@gmail.com.  I will be in the office most of the week if you would like to bring them by - just check first so we don't have duplicates.

Queen sized sheets
2 new pillows
a quilt or comforter for his bed
simple 6x8 rug
shower curtain and liner

Also, below is an e-mail that Ashley sent yesterday.  It sounds like it did not come through to everyone.

Thanks everyone for everything and always being there for Tom.

Katie

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all of the kind messages and calls. I am sorry that I haven't been able to answer them each but I have relayed your well wishes to my dad.

Things are going pretty well here. They cleaned him up so he is looking better and some of the eye swell is going down. He still can't open his eyes and is having possible issues with the right one. The best news so far is that the neurosurgeon said his brain is looking good, swelling is going down, no more bleeding.

He's also awake and funny. Andrew asked whether the doctors gave him all the info he needs and he said yes except for one question- can I go paddle tomorrow :)

We are trying to keep things quiet in his room. He needs to sleep and rest his mind. He has a terrible headache and thoughts seem to be racing.

I will let you know if I can think of anything that would help. I know he would love a card even though they will have to be read out loud. He is in the Suburban ICU room 3411. He will need surgery eventually but they are waiting for the swelling to decrease.

Thanks again for the love! Ashley
