[WardFive] : Africa Leaders Summit-related Program Information and Invitations

The Africa Society has been asked to forward information to you about two
upcoming programs-The AGOA Civil Society Session of the 13th AGOA Forum and
an event hosted by the African Women's Entrepreneurship Program (AWEP), a
trade and investment initiative sponsored by the U.S. Department of State on
"Strengthening the Bottom Line with African Women CEOs."

We want to take this opportunity to commend the Obama Administration for
initiating the first-ever U.S. Summit for African Heads of State and
Government.  It marks the beginning of a new era in U.S.-Africa relations,
as well as a defining moment in America's history.

We join our friends and partners in the Africanist community, members of the
African Diaspora and all Africa-interested individuals in saying to the 500
young professionals who are here for the YALI program and the African
leaders from throughout the continent who will be coming shortly, "Welcome
to America."  Thank you for bringing with you a level of engagement and
excitement involving Africa that Washington has never before experienced.

AFRICA MATTERS!
