[WardFive] This Saturday at Stokes: Saturday Academy AND Taste of Stokes - open to all!

Hello,

 

I wanted to let you know about Stokes Saturday Academy tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. and the amazing variety of weekly classes, open to all.  There is an 80% discount for the second class per family! (Can be the same person taking two classes or two different people taking a class.) Some classes start at 10:00 and some at 11:00.

 

Stokes is located at 3700 Oakview Terrace NE, Washington, DC 20017.  The school is 3 blocks EAST of (uphill from) Brookland/CUA metro station.

 

I also wanted to mention that tomorrow is another fun event open to the community:

 

Taste of Stokes 

Saturday, October 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

 

Join Stokes School as we celebrate the fall harvest. We will have cooking demonstrations and samples from neighborhood restaurants and our very own Stokes Kitchen. Festival goers will also be able to taste food from our Taste of Stokes Cooking Contest. The Taste of Stokes Festival will have face-painting, fruit and vegetable crafts, French and Spanish language activities, hula hooping, relays, and music. Kids are invited to show off their Halloween costumes!

Good day Everyone,

 

We have made some changes to the activity/class roster for Saturday Academy.  The most exciting change is the addition of a Percussion Hour for 3 to 5 year olds (older children can also participate).  This activity will be offered during the 10:00am hour slot (replacing Steel Drums) and Mr. Richards will be the instructor.  So, if you need a Saturday morning activity for the little energetic ones in your household, please come play with us. 

 

You can also participate through drop-in classes for the fee of $12. We hope to see you on Saturday.
