Re: cheat_training_group Saturday, Frozen Saturday

To follow up on what Steve-O said, if you are claustrophobic or like to have a personal space buffer between you and others, I recommend getting a few people together and driving a car up to Great Falls from Sycamore. The people you drive up will likely be willing to give you a ride back to your car at the end of the day or plenty of other people are nice enough to help you out.

At Sycamore, we need to leave enough space behind the cars for the van and trailer to pull in without blocking traffic to load boats. Please consider this when parking your cars. Also please look before stepping into the road or even just around the van and trailer while loading gear as cars usually go very fast down the road.

When putting boats in the trailer, any boats longer than 12 feet (Stinger, Mirage, Response, etc.) do not fit in the trailer unless at an angle. They are most easily tied to the roof of the van. Please help both loading and unloading the trailer and the roof of the van.

I have an extra pair of gloves or pogies, if anyone needs them tomorrow please let me know.

Hey Cheat Trainers,

So Mother Nature decided she wasn't going to let Cheat Training be that easy this year so she turned the heat off. No big deal to us though, because tomorrow we are paddling! Tomorrow, we are planning to meet at the Sycamore Island parking lot off of Clara Barton. If you click on Sycamore Island it should bring up a map. We start loading the van and trailer at 9:00 am so please be there earlier to get dressed and to figure out the parking situation. If you would like you may also meet us at Great Falls, Md at 9:30 and run your own shuttle afterwards.

The plan: tomorrow we will be paddling from Sandy Beach below Great Falls to Sycamore Island. It is about 8.3 miles of paddling. We will split into 3 groups tomorrow I don't like calling them the fast, medium, slow groups, but the only thing I could think of to change the names were Dolphins (fast), Sharks, Whales (slow, but mighty). Anyone
have a suggestion?

Ashley Nee is going to lead a clinic in the lake at Sandy Beach so be sure to be there!

Its going to be cold tomorrow so I would recommend wearing dry suit, and pogies.

Lets have some fun out there people!
PADDLE EVERYWHERE!
