[WardFive] Events coming up: DC Pride, DC Statehood Lobby Day...

As we get close to the 1-year anniversary of the Orlando shooting, June 12th, 2017, I hope you take time not only to enjoy Pride here in DC, but also remember the 49 dead and 58 wounded on that tragic night 1 year ago at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida.  My prayers and thoughts continue to be with the family and friends of all the victims; a number of events to remember the victims are scheduled by different groups around DC in the next few days.

I want to share with you a list of some key events taking place in the month of June.  Take note that the Pride Parade in DC is this Saturday, like most years, the DC Statehood Congressional Delegation will be there, if you want to join our float, feel free to email me back to let me know.

Also, on Saturday, the Richard Wright PCS will have its annual Black Tie Gala at the Warner Theater:  Honorees this year include: Honorable Reverend Jesse Jackson, Sr., Bern Nadette Stanis  "Thema" of Good Times, Denise Rolark Barnes, and myself (see attachment).  Come and support this great school, and have a great time.

And on Monday, we will head to the U.S. Congress to ask members of the House of Representatives to support our DC Statehood Bill, H.R. 1291 Washington D.C. Admission Act, please come join me and many others, as we continue our path to DC Statehood.

Like always, I look forward to seeing some of you at these events.

Thank you.
