The inaugural program will be held at SQCC's headquarters, located in the heart of Washington, D.C. This intensive Arabic language program will allow students to gain a deeper knowledge of Arabic while becoming familiar with Omani history and culture in a fun and positive learning environment. The program provides opportunities to a diverse range of students from across the United States at every level of language learning.
In addition to classroom language instruction, students can explore the best of Washington, D.C. with organized trips to museums, extracurricular activities, guest lectures and other cultural programming.
The word Sabla in Omani dialect refers to a place in each community where people gather and receive hospitality. Sabla also serves as a meeting place to discuss important public issues.
The Sabla program aspires to be a hub bringing together students from across the U.S. for a rich linguistic and cultural exchange. The program hopes to enable students to be active learners and form a community to cultivate a lifelong Arabic language learning experience.
