[WardFive] Re: [ward5] Yard Signs

Good Afternoon,

How about our candidates actually do some distinguishing work throughout the community that they don't need to put up signs for name recognition.  I can't imagine that in this age of technology, we still need to depend on tricks in order for people to know your name and even worse, to be upset if someone steals some of them or it just blows away.  They should be like Tim Day and start "exposing" CM's and govt. officials for wrong doing and maybe the press will give them free publicity.

While they may all have the best of intentions, compassion and "Washingtonian Spirit - born here or not", I have to also agree with Don Padou (Jrturner) that they are all running on some fumes!!  Even though I believe that Kenyan (my choice) and Drew are the best two choices and the TORCH should be passed to one of these Two - I have yet to see a plan of HOW from anyone!!  But, I guess the Signs is the next best choice!

Oh! did I just say Don Padou?  Well, that writing sure does look familiar if we are talking about aliases!!! I could be very well wrong, but I don't know an "Old Black Man" who would describe my writings as "GAS" - not in this lifetime!! I need to see the person and the ID on this one. I didn't believe it back then when he said he was an old Black Man and I don't believe it now.  I sure have asked!!  Hell, I will even take him some good food that "Black People" like!!

And Danielle - please wake up - this isn't over on election day - the reality is that these sentiments just get heightened and highlighted around election time.  The reality my dear is that this "Progressive" thinking is constantly bubbling like a Volcano waiting to erupt all day, every day all over the world!!  Kind of like a cancer - while it is eating you slowly out on the inside, you actually think that everything is OK - a minor lump from time to time goes somewhat unnoticed or if noticed, removed.  Very difficult to remove this oppressive disease when attached to the heart and Lungs - remember, not everyone has it - or else, we wouldn''t have made it this far even though the disease is much More present in the men!!  Live long enough/experience enough and you will learn.  Colonization without the concern of the natives (1st Corinthians 14:17 - being thankful without truly uplifting) just evolves geographically based upon natural resources and under a different name and form

As we celebrate Mother's Day, let us see if we could understand that EVERY Child would like to afford a mother's day celebration like the ones that many of us celebrate with our Mothers.  Let's continue to understand that 365 days from now, we have implemented more compassion/empathy into our focus towards being "Progressive" as we work on bringing our communities together!!  Someone told me this last night - every Journey starts with a single Step (forgot the author) - so let's step starting this Mother's Day in unison (as much as possible) towards understanding the need to rise everyone's ability to succeed and be present to be able to celebrate everyday (as RA said) as mother's day with their mother!!  Remember, Women of all cultures have a natural God-Given Maternal Instinct that makes them responsible for Mothering the World. That's what helped us during Slavery and should help us now as we fight for the survival of the children of mothers who are unable to properly nurse their young.

Ladies (Black and White), I hope you are listening!!

Happy Mother's Day

PS - Somebody please send this to Brookland List Serv as I am still not allowed to Post my bad bad messages!!  Who knows, maybe their motherly instincts may kick back in!!

KPW, Over a month ago, I posted about the craziness of the taking down of candidates signs, what will it achieve, that W5 could be the start of the change for respectability of campaigns, and for all the candidates to respond stating that they would fire an employee or release any volunteer campaign worker who is identified for doing this.

This post was ignored.  No candidate or list member responded to my post.

If we really want change, no matter the level of the offense, be taken seriously, those who are suppose to be activists, community leaders, and residents must bring attention and identify the preps of this illegal action.  Recently, I believe it was Eric who addressed an "un-named" individual who was taking down campaign signs.  Obviously no impact because the person wasn't identified!  Waiting for someone else to do it no longer works to anyone's benefit, for the long-term residents or new residents for it shows your degree of caring for the quality of life and acceptable level of community standards for peace, quiet and order.

Either there are high standards or sub-standards which affect how that community is perceived.

Someone has continuously taken  my Hunter signs down that I weave through my porch rails for to raise the level of visibility.  When I just had one in my yard someone took it and I thought it was a prank.  I put three in my yard now.  I have five on my car.  To these sign thieves, Delano Hunter is more that a sign represents.  With our faith, we shall persevere  in spite of the games.  We represent a game changer.

Happy Mother's Day.

Greetings neighbors, just a morning note to watch out for people stealing yard signs.  The candidate signs in my front yard have been stolen.
