Re: [WardFive] Fwd: Re: [ward5] Kathy Henderson sued

No offense to all of you, but it's probally time we need to move on. I'm not  involved in or even interested in this court case, but I am disturbed that it already casts a shadow on ANC 5D.  After Shelton with 5B and Harry with all of 5 I guess I am rather not interested in yet another scandal.

Reconciliation and rebirth require truth, honesty, and frankly some humility. Things  that are all lacking by and large in Ward 5 politics.   We recently elected a Council-member who's not even responsive to the concerns of elected ANCs, let alone regular old citizens like me. So while I think Ms. Henderson's issues are important to her. I don't feel compeled to get on anyone's side here.  The scandal drags us all in ANC 5D down.

While there are no perfect people, DC politics could use a real change.   I'm not sure what that looks like, but the old politics of grandstanding martyrdom  is tired, trifling, and has little currency.

While you are all sharing blessings, praising each other, and fighting straw-men elections are happening. Folks that doesn't really support you are getting into to office. The shift is happening before your eyes, but you are too caught up in the politics as usual to see it.  There will be  four CMs from Ward 5.  Yet everyone on here claims it to be a dumping ground. So while you're all focusing on that, others are planning a Ward 5, a Washington, DC well without you. And you all better wake up and smell the coffee.

Sometimes the best foxes are the ones that believe they are in deed sheep, that is until they realize they are not, and then they strike.  I'm sure many with dismiss this, but as someone outside of the outside, a rather invisible man, I feel a strange freedom to tell the truth.  Pray and praise all you like, but frankly while you're praying others are planning. It's not a color line issue by the way. It's a battle of ideas, of vision, or planning, and quality of life, but also a battle of access, and of who matters.  If our current Ward 5 CM is an indicator of this shift, then it is clear 1/3 of the Ward already is outside of the span of access and doesn't matter.   If CM Orange is, then the night fell a long time ago and the sun will never rise.

Again, I don't have any interest in  Kathy Henderson being sued. That's up to a Judge. We all need to open our eyes however, because it is scandals like this that help others to write us all off. It make them justified in limiting access to us. To not associate with us, or ever respond to emails in a meaningful way.

I want 5D to be respected,
Happy New Year I suppose.

I'm praying for you too Kathy.  And I'm praying that 2013 will be a year of reconcilliation and rebirth for all of us in the last colony.

Good Evening Ladies:Thank you for the kind words. I stood up for my community and did the right thing and told the truth. I continue to believe my community deserves to be treated fairly and we deserve to enjoy a good quality of life. Unfortunately, there are some that have a different agenda and have no regard for our neighborhoods or me.News of my demise is premature. I have not received a copy of the judge's order and will not offer any specific comments at this time. I recall when drug dealers attacked and eventually set my car on fire in an effort to silence me and the will of my community. They did not prevail. The venue for this battle is Superior Court and I feel confident that truth and justice will prevail. I believe the moral arc of the universe does indeed bend toward justice and that no weapon formed against me will prosper.Kathy Henderson

Sad to hear that a hard working activist is in trouble.  Too bad.

Let this be an example for all who feel their words won't catch up with them--whether it be on this list serv, email, social media channels, or word of mouth.
