[WardFive] Join in the conversation - DME Student Assignment/School Boundaries Process

Hello!

We invite you to join us, the Ward Five Council on Education, for our next meeting on tomorrow evening, Tuesday, February 18th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Lamond-Riggs Library (5401 South Dakota Ave NE).

Agenda:

1. Deputy Mayor for Education, Abigail Smith, will join us to discuss the Student Assignment and School Boundaries Review Process that is now underway.  She will discuss the progress that has been made in the process and ways that parents and any education stakeholder can provide input and feedback to the process.

Having your participation in this conversation is VITAL! Many of the conversations around the process of student assignment and school boundaries will have major implications in Ward 5. In knowing that, it is so important for us to be a part of the conversation.  Please join us on Tuesday to learn more about the process and come ready to give your feedback.

2. We will also  be joined by Souyma Bhat from the DC Fiscal Policy Institute to discuss the upcoming FY 2014 budget. Souyma will educate us on what the budget is and how to be a knowledgeable and active participant in the process. We will also learn about the the FY14 Budget Toolkit.

With all of the important information on the agenda we hope that you will join us on tomorrow evening and be a part of the conversation!
