** About Scouting in Brookland at St. Anthony's **
For over 50 years, St. Anthony's Catholic Church has chartered Boy Scout Troop 98 and Cub Scout Pack 98 in Washington, D.C.'s Brookland neighborhood, and our boys have been having the time of their lives making new friends and learning new things in an environment designed to help them succeed. From building own pinewood derby cards to learning how to roast the perfect marshmallow with his best friends camping, taking hikes in the city and beyond, your boy will LOVE being a Scout.

Cub Scout Pack 98 meets weekly on Thursday evenings in Dens that are grouped by grade Tiger (1st grade), Wolf, Bear, and Webelos Dens and have regular Pack meetings with award ceremonies and more. We also have activities on weekends, including Pinewood Derby, overnight family camping trips in the fall and spring, day hikes, community service activities, and much more.

Boy Scout Troop 98 meets weekly in Patrols on Monday evenings that are organized and led by the boys. After they've been given the proper guidance from those with experience and know-how, they take their own lead, going places they've never gone, seeing things they've never seen, and diving into the rugged world of outdoor adventure, relying on teamwork and character to accomplish what everyone else thinks is impossible. We also have activities on weekends, including camping trips in the fall and spring, day hikes, community service activities, and much more.

Pack 98 and Troop 98 are a welcoming Pack and Troop and do not discriminate against any potential scout, family, or leader. Anyone who is committed to the goals of scouting -- creating a space where boys can interact positively with other boys, teaching appreciation and respect for nature, and promoting other character values such as sportsmanship, teamwork, and the importance of community service -- is encouraged to join.

All Pack 98 and Troop 98 parents are encouraged to volunteer, as it makes a huge impact on the quality time you get to spend with your child and also gives you an opportunity to lead by example in your community. Scouting is designed to help even the busiest parents/guardians get involved. If you can give an hour per day, per month, or per year, we have a position for you — volunteer today!
