[WardFive] You are invited to Swearing-In ceremony

I want to extend an invite for you to attend my Swearing-In ceremony.  Details are below and on enclosed image.

I was elected to be the next US Representative (Shadow) for the District of Columbia on November 4th, 2014.  This is an important position.  The US Representative position is one of 3 positions (one US Representative, 2 Senators) in our Shadow Congressional Delegation that is critical to advancing our city’s mandate to become a state.  My election to this position is also important because the last time we had a Latino elected city-wide was to the School Board in the 1970’s.

During the last couple of months, I have been meeting with my Shadow Congressional Delegation colleagues,  members and staff of the US Congress, Statehood advocate organizations, citizens and residents of the city, and our Mayor-Elect, to develop a plan to move us closer to achieving Statehood for the District of Columbia.

In the next month, I plan to develop and implement a series of tools to keep you interested and engaged in the work I do to move us closer to Statehood.

Thank you for the past support, and I hope you will join me in this momentous occasion.

Sincerely,

Franklin Garcia

US Representative Elect (Shadow)–DC
