(Washington, DC) - Today, the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) announced that DPR's Cooperative Play Program will host a variety of Open Houses for new and prospective families for the upcoming 2015-2016 program year. The Cooperative Play program currently operates 5 days a week from September 8, 2014 through May 22, 2015. For the 2015-2016 program year, the Cooperative Play program will operate from September 8, 2015 through May 20, 2016; and will be offered for children between the ages of 18 months to 4 years old.


The 2015-2016 Open Houses will be held on Monday, February 9 through Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the locations listed below. Please note, locations will be open for adult visitors only from 9:30 am – 11:30 am. Parents are invited to drop-in at one, or all, of the Open Houses on the days listed below:


* Monday, February 9th
* Columbia Heights Community Center (1480 Girard Street, NW) - Butterflies | ages 2 1/2 - 4 years old
* Columbia Heights Community Center (1480 Girard Street, NW) - Caterpillars | ages 18 - 29 months
* Kennedy Recreation Center (1401 7th Street, NW) - ages 2 1/2 - 4 years old

* Tuesday, February 10th
* Hearst Recreation Center (3950 37th Street, NW) - ages 2 1/2 - 4 years old
* Mitchell Park Recreation Center (1801 23rd Street, NW) - ages 2 1/2 - 4 years old
* Rose Park Recreation Center (2609 Dumbarton Street, NW) - ages 18 - 29 months
* Turkey Thicket Recreation Center (1100 Michigan Avenue, NE) - ages 18 - 29 months
* Volta Park Recreation Center (1555 34th Street, NW) - Bunnies | ages 18 - 29 months
* Volta Park Recreation Center (1555 34th Street, NW) - Rabbits | ages 2 1/2 - 4 years old


* Wednesday, February 11th
* Chevy Chase Community Center (5601 Connecticut Avenue, NW) - ages 2 1/2 - 4 years old
* Chevy Chase Recreation Center (5500 41st Street, NW) - ages 18 - 29 months
* Guy Mason Recreation Center (3600 Calvert Street, NW) - ages 2 1/2 - 4 years old
* Raymond Recreation Center (3725 10th Street, NW) - ages 18 - 29 months



Please note the following:

* Open Houses are for adult visitors only; please do not bring children.
* Open House drop-in's are limited to 20 minutes per person per site.
