Dear Education Stakeholders,

The District of Columbia Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) is pleased to invite you to participate in:

A WEBINAR on the District of Columbia's Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Waiver Renewal

Friday, February 6, 2015, from 3PM – 4PM

This is part of a series of webinars designed to share information and gather input on DC's ESEA waiver renewal. As you may know, the U.S. Department of Education (ED) recently announced to states the opportunity to renew expiring ESEA waivers. States are required to submit an application by March 31, 2015, for consideration. ED has also required states to submit an updated plan to address equitable access to quality teachers. This plan, which has intersections with the waiver, is due in June 2015.

The webinars will:

  • Present information about the waiver renewal process; and
  • Initiate a dialogue among stakeholders about what should be included in the waiver renewal request.

Guest speakers:

  • Amy Maisterra, Interim State Superintendent of Education;
  • Jeffery Noel, Assistant Superintendent of Data, Assessment and Research; and
  • Etai Mizrav, Education Policy and Compliance Specialist
