The DC Department of Housing and Community Development in Partnership with the Greater Washington Urban League will host its Seventh Annual DC Housing Expo and Home Show, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center on Saturday, June 27, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A few exciting highlights include:
- Over 150 housing related exhibitors providing housing information, including but not limited to: home purchase financial assistance, new affordable housing developments, energy efficient products, innovative products, decoration and remodeling ideas and home improvement specialists.
- Workshops on Homeownership, Aging in Place resources, Mortgage Foreclosure prevention and process, Decorating on a Dime and many others.
- Free credit reports will be available along with housing counselors on site to provide immediate assistance.
- For high school and middle school students – "Rich Estates Financial Reality Games" and Virtual financial games"
- Hands-on "Do-It Yourself" workshops: Making minor home repairs, How to access available home rehab programs, and Lead remediation for healthy homes
- Nutritional cooking demonstrations with Celebrity Chef Rock, winner "Hell's Kitchen"
- Opportunities to find an affordable rental unit or home to purchase
- Door prizes, giveaways and much more!
