Hello Friends!
I'm excited to share that the Brown Girls Lead Academy at Howard University is looking for amazing, undergraduate students to join the 2015-2016 class of young ladies at Howard University and we need your help spreading the word!
Now in our fifth year of operation, the BGL Academy is an engaging, seven month program that focuses on three core leadership development components: Personal Empowerment, Professional Enrichment and Public Engagement. (Ladies applications due September 19, 2015)
Through BGLA, young ladies will...
- Develop their leadership and organizing skills
- Get personal coaching from women executives and national leaders
- Obtain hands on preparation for post-college success
- Receive tools to successfully run for elected positions on campus and in the community
- Gain practical life skills knowledge and service opportunities
We're also seeking professional Black women (ages 25-45) in the Washington, DC area to serve as coaches for our 2015-2016 class. If selected via the application and interview process, coaches will be partnered with one young lady to serve as her coach throughout the school year and work with her as she develops her personal, professional and public leadership development skills. (Coaches applications due September 15, 2015)
