Dear Relatives and Friends,
It is with great sorrow that I inform you that Marie C. Humbles, my mother passed in the early morning on September 16, 2015. We were all richer and wiser for knowing her. Mom fought a valiant battle after her stroke on May 3rd. We were fortunate to have her close to us when she was moved from Riverside Medical Center in Newport News, VA to a nursing home in Hyattsville, MD. I apologize for not being able to personally reach out to you at this time. I am fortunate that so many thought so much of her. My phone has been constantly ringing with condolences from the people she touched in her 30 years of teaching and 60 + years of community service.
She will be eulogized on next Wednesday, September 23rd, 1 PM at Macedonia AME located at 23536 Church Road, Accomac, VA 23301. Her wake will take place Tuesday evening at Cooper and Humbles Funeral Home, cooperandhumbles.com. 24497 Mary N. Smith Road, Accomac, VA 23301, 757-787-2504.
