[WardFive] Doug Jemal's Wonder Bread Building - A Fit for Bladensburg Road?

Congratulations to you and the community.

I am out of here for about two weeks. NAACP Convention in Cincinnati and then to Philly for a couple days for the Democratic Convention.

Hey Gang,

Remember I indicated that I met with CM McDuffie to talk about the future of Bladensburg Road Corridor with all the vacant Warehouses?

Well, not sure if you knew this but Doug Jemal's Wonder Bread Building has been 100% leased for start up companies.  See:

I hope that when CM McDuffie decides to meet with us this month that you'll echo the same sentiments about bringing jobs (not retail) to the area.  I don't see us pursing a "Maintstreet" as he suggested but rather making the area more attractive for established corporations that can afford the larg footprint of the buildings.  Alternatively, it would take the foresight of like Douglas Development to chop a building up to house for a multicomplex space like the Wonder Bread Factory.
