PERRY SCHOOL CENTER ACCEPTING REGISTRATIONS
FOR FREE SPRING AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 25, 2014) - Perry School Community Services Center, a coalition of partners providing programs and services to youth, adults, and families in need in the District of Columbia announces the registration period for its free Spring After-School program for children in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, and particularly Wards 5 & 6.

Registration for the program will take place through April 22, Monday through Friday from 3:30 - 6 p.m. at the Perry School Community Services Center at 128 M Street NW.  More information is available online at www.perryschool.org, by contacting the Perry Center at (202) 312-7140 or by e-mailing info@perryschool.org.

Quinta Martin, Chairman of the Board of the Perry Center, says, "Building upon its strong community base and momentum, The Perry Center looks forward to continuing to empower and serve the community residents of Washington, D.C. in 2014.  This free program for children offers a chance for them to grow and shine."

The vigorous slate of activities and programming for children who enroll in the free program include:

" Developing nutrition skills through cooking classes;
" Art projects with mixed media and crafts;
" Anti-bullying and conflict resolution programs;
" Homework assistance and cultural enrichment opportunities;
" Photography, computer projects and blogs;
" Movement with dance and martial arts; and
" Sports and team-building experiences.

The After School Program will run from April 22 to June 20 Mondays - Fridays (holidays excluded) from 3:30 - 6:00 p.m. at the Perry Center.

The program is a free service of the Perry Center with support from its partners Albus Cavus, Little Friends for Peace, Peace Thru Culture and Zenful Bites.       

The Perry Center and its location partners include Bright Beginnings, Center City Community Corporation, College Bound, Georgetown University Center for Child and Human Development, Lift-DC, Perry Family Medical Center of Providence Hospital, and Perry School Community Services Center.


The Perry School Community Services Center is a supplemental learning and community center focusing on youth development, economic empowerment and social services in the heart of the North Capitol Street community.
