[WardFive] WARD 5 Age Friendly Block-by-Block Walk Meeting Wed, March 19th

Ward 5 Meeting

***********Please Attend************

What is the Age Friendly Block-by-Block Walk?

* It's a program designated to help make the District a better place to live for those who are 60 and older.

* The Walk participants will identify neighborhood assets and issues needing attention all through the lens of older DC residents.

How can you help?

* Become a volunteer and participate. You are encouraged to organize or join a team.

* The teams will walk neighborhoods divided by Single Member District (SMD) areas, but participants do not need to be a resident of a particular SMD to volunteer.

When does the program start?

* During the March 20 - April 15 Age-Friendly Block-by-Block Walk, hundreds of volunteers will take to the streets of DC to identify neighborhood assets and issues needing attention all through the lens of DC residents 60 and older.

* When the data from all the Walk areas is combined, it will help the city improve policy and practice to make daily life better for everyone.

What do I need to do get started?

* Attend a training session.

* The next scheduled training session is in WARD 5 Wednesday, March 19th at 7:00 at the 5th District Police station located at 1805 Bladensburg Road, NE.
