[WardFive] Weather Affects DPW Services: Trash, Parking, Street Sweeping

Weather Affects DPW Services: Trash, Parking, Street Sweeping

The Department of Public Works announced that today’s snow storm will affect certain solid waste and parking enforcement services.

Trash/Recycling Collections: Collections crews will make every effort to collect from households whose trash and/or recycling are collected on Mondays from curbside. This applies to both once-a-week and twice-a-week trash collection neighborhoods. DPW will not collect trash and/or recycling from alleys today.

Where trash and/or recycling is not collected today, DPW asks residents to hold these items until the next regularly scheduled collection day. In once-a-week trash and recycling collection neighborhoods, DPW will collect next Monday. In Monday twice-a-week trash collection neighborhoods where recycling also is collected on Mondays, DPW will collect trash on Thursday of this week. Residents are asked to hold their recycling until next Monday.

Parking Enforcement: DPW will enforce morning (7 am – 9:30 am) and afternoon (4 pm – 6:30 pm) rush hour parking restrictions. Since residential street sweeping has been suspended for Monday, March 17 and Tuesday, March 18, tickets will not be written for violating these parking restrictions. Street sweeping and the enforcement of related parking restrictions will resume on Wednesday, March 19.
