Steve was the leader of the "Thursday group" of paddlers. He researched this book for about 27 years by running obscure as well as common streams after rains. The book includes some DC oriented humor in descriptions that capture some of Steve's personality. I was lucky enough to meet Steve and paddle with the Thursday group several times while he had a reprieve from cancer in his final year. He passed in 2013, shortly after publishing this book.
