Subject: Spread the Word! May 1 = Enrollment Deadline for Public Schools +

Dear Community Partner:

As you know, this coming school year (2014-15) DCPS and DC public charter schools are participating in My School DC, the common lottery system for public school choice in the District of Columbia. To learn more about My School DC, click here.

The Round 1 deadlines for grades PK3-12 have passed. Families can access their results through their online MySchoolDC.org accounts. They will need their username and password to access. Families also received their results via US mail.

If families applied in Round 1 and their child was matched to one of their school selections, families have until Thursday, May 1 to enroll at the school, in person, or lose their seat at that school. To learn what is required for enrollment, click here.

If a child was not matched in Round 1, a family can apply to additional schools (not the schools at which its child is waitlisted) through Round 2 of the lottery. The family would log into their My School DC account, and submit an application for Round 2 the same way they submitted one for Round 1. Round 2 is also available for families that missed Round 1. The deadline to apply for Round 2 is May 15.

Families may contact the My School DC Hotline (202.888.6336) Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm, or email us at info@myschooldc.org with questions or for assistance with completing the online application, for username and password retrieval, and for access to lottery results. Telephonic interpretation is available for limited and non-English speakers.

Please spread the word to the families you work with. We would love to assist them in this process!

Best,

The My School DC Team
