NAACP DC Branch HOSTS ITS TELE-TOWN HALL GENERAL BODY MEETING ON THE CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 PANDEMIC

The NAACP DC Branch will host its March General Body Meeting virtually as a Tele-Town Hall addressing Coronavirus COVID-19 on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 7:00pm [dial (605) 313-5146, enter participant code 550584.] The Tele-Town Hall will feature subject topic guest speakers including a representative from the DC Department of Health (DC Health), Ashley Emerson, Director, Mayor's Office on African American Affairs and Clint Osborn, Deputy Director of Operations, District of Columbia Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency (HSEMA)

 

The NAACP DC Branch advocates to promote better public safety, optimal health outcomes and equal access to timely, quality and affordable health care.  Chronic illnesses and unequal access to healthcare create a higher risk of mortality from infectious diseases, such as COVID-19.  The NAACP is closely monitoring the development of the COVID-19 outbreak and updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and DC Health (DOH) to provide timely and relevant information to help protect our communities. 

 

The NAACP DC Branch will this conference call March meeting consistent with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  The CDC issues guidance aimed at slowing the transmission of COVID-19, while minimizing social and economic impacts.
