[WardFive] LJBGGC Opening Ceremonies.

Dear Community,

Langston Junior Boys and Girls Golf Club is having their 2012 Opening Ceremony tomorrow at 10am at Langston Golf Course.  Along with our summer golf program, we are also rolling out an improved curriculum that will include an educational aspect administered by Seaward Academy (www.seawardacademy.webs.com).  If time permits, join us as it would be a great opportunity to experience what our program is all about.  Below is a script copy of our Program which includes our four scholarship recipients.  Our Future Goal is to extend our program to create a golfing programs in the Schools across the street as well as to create a program that will extend it's golf and educational aspects to the youth in the Carver Terrace community and throughout the City.  Who knows where might be hidden the next Tiger Woods and Arnold Palmer calibre of player!!

Each summer, the LJRGC trains youth from the ages of six through eighteen on the fundamentals of golf and important life lessons. They are also taught to inspire respect for self and others, to cultivate principles of honesty and integrity, to foster an understanding of the inter-relationship between athletic and academic excellence, and to provide a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment for each junior golfer.   Also, as part of the junior program, each year we honor our high school senior golfers with a scholarship to continue their educational pursuits.  These scholarships are awarded during the opening ceremony.  The scholarships are made available from private sources and through our annual scholarship golf tournament, which will be held on Saturday July 21, 2012.
