Who will lead us?

The public's trust in our government is shaken. Many communities feel that their voices have not been heard in District government. We're coming together to reassert our voices and hold public servants accountable!

Join us for a public forum on Sunday, September 9 at Busboys and Poets, as council members address the questions of local journalists, community leaders and District residents.

This public forum is being co-produced by the Washington Blade, the Washington Informer, WPFW, and Occupy-affiliated DC Mic Check. After an initial "meet and greet" from 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM, we will begin the forum with a series of questions posed to the officials by these local journalists. For the last hour of the forum, the floor will be turned over to the public.
The forum will be moderated by local activist Nick McCoy.
Space is limited, so be sure to arrive early.

Elected officials particpating include Chairman Phil Mendelson, Chair Pro Tempore Michael Brown, At- Large CM Vincent Orange, CM Jack Evans, CM Muriel Bowser, and CM Tommy Wells.
