[WardFive] Re: [ward5] Re: Fwd: New High School Principal

Good Afternoon,

Commissioner Bradley, maybe we can take this opportunity to utilize these "typical" talking points and begin a more deep discussion.  I will start with the following:

A while back, a reporter asked Marvin Tucker if he thought it was still necessary to teach African American History in schools.  Of course Marvin gave him a YES and explained how important it was for African American children to learn their true history.  When he was done, I added that teaching African American History in schools would also be an excellent way to help with the evolution of mindset of European Americans as well.

So, it is not only important that African Americans especially the children are taught of the successful aspects of their ancestry (the hardships and their accomplishments) but it is imperative that European Americans and other ethnic groups are exposed to and taught this as well. Only then can others respect, appreciate and empathize the intrical aspects of our melting pot set of cultures. Remember, not too long ago, the Irish, Jews, Italians and others were clawing their way into society -- the only difference was that the color of their skin made their movement much easier.

So, It is extremely important to teach about the many leaders of African Americans and Africans throughout history and also the many other leaders of other cultures to help with evolution -- it will definitely help with equality.

Eric:

Thanks for the research but it was clear to me from the start that the piece wasn't written by a high school principal.  Too many typical talking points.
