Hi Neighbors,

I'm Jenny Reed, Mayor Bowser's Deputy Budget Director.

This year, DC faces a quarter billion dollar budget deficit. Mayor Bowser is working hard to close that gap while preserving and expanding vital programs that give everyone a fair shot, like education, job training and affordable housing.

But we need your help.

This month, the Mayor is hosting three Budget Engagement Forums to hear how you think we should prioritize the District's budget.

Watch this video from Mayor Bowser inviting YOU to a budget engagement forum:

Mayor's Budget Priorities Video

I invite you to join me at one of these forums to help us set our budget priorities as we begin the hard work of balancing the city's budget.

Come to a budget engagement forum:

February 19 at Wilson High School at 7 pm RSVP

February 21 at Anacostia High School at 1 pm RSVP

February 23 at Dunbar High School at 7 pm RSVP

We need to make sure residents in all 8 wards have a seat at the table and that their voices are heard. For more information about our Budget Engagement Forums, RSVP or go to Mayor.DC.gov.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Sincerely,

Jenny Reed
Deputy Budget Director
Executive Office of Mayor Muriel Bowser

P.S. Let us know what your budget priorities are by filling in our graphic and posting it to one of our social media channels using your tablet, mobile device, or even a sheet of paper.  We will retweet and repost some of your #freshstart ideas. Here's an example:
