Fall Programs at Calleva

Adventure is not in the guidebooks and beauty is not on the maps.
It's hard to believe that summer has come to an end. Although camp may be over, Calleva still has programming during the fall, winter, and spring. So, if you're looking for something fun to do during the school year or want to build upon the skills you learned this summer be sure to check out some of the programs that we have going on.
We look forward to seeing you on your next Calleva program.

Farm & Forest Cubs Program

We are excited that Calleva is continuing with this new program for our youngest nature explorers in the Fall. The Farm & Forest Cubs program is a 10-week, drop off program for 3 to 6 yr. olds. Sessions are held twice a week and you can select from either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday mornings. The program is located at the Calleva Farm in Dickerson. Sessions are designed to let kids experience our beautiful farm and wooded environment through play and learning and foster their excitement in the natural world.

This program is for middle and high school students that are learning how to kayak or want to build upon the skills they already have.
Students get picked up at Whitman High School, Westland Middle School, and Pyle Middle School. All students get dropped off at Whitman High School. If you aren't close to one of those schools for pick up you can always meet at the river at 3:30pm.
Fall Session begins Monday September 11, 2017 and runs for 6 consecutive weeks.. Beginner and Intermediate paddlers chose Monday or Wednesday. In the fall the advanced program is called the Commando Unit and meets Tuesday and Thursday.

Women on the Water

Please Join Calleva in partnership with Potomac Riverkeeper Network on Saturday, September 9th for this special RiverPalooza 2017 Women on the Water (WOW) Paddle Day. Help us stand up for clean water and celebrate the 45th Anniversary of the Clean Water Act!

Clean water is critical to our survival and is an interest we all share. The Potomac River is a drinking water supply for 6 million people and is the life blood of the region.

Enjoy a paddle with us on this wide and lazy stretch of river which is part of the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail. This part of the Potomac River is 8 miles of placid, gently flowing currents from Edward's Ferry all the way down to Seneca Creek Park at Riley's Lock, making it the perfect stretch for even beginner paddlers. Kids must be at least 12 yrs old to rent a boat. Ladies we hope to see you on the river! Please register today!
