Hey all!
Dickerson is generating this weekend. If you are interested in joining, please register online or email me. I will need to send a list in this evening. We will meet at the gate at 10:15 am and paddle 11-1 on Saturday. Your 2013 card is still good this weekend. You must have a PWRC card, a signed NRG waiver, and your ID in order to enter.
There is space in Sunday morning Slalom for River Runners 9-11am at the Feeder Canal. If you haven't been on the water much this winter, this is a great way to brush up on strokes and get your feel for whitewater back before spring. These classes only run through February so join soon!
Our next Winter Pool Rolling class is Saturday 1/25, 4:30-6:30pm at the Piney Branch Pool. Please register online.
Mexico update: The Alseseca Race last weekend was exciting and fun with high water and kayakers from all over the world. Dane Jackson was first for his second year in a row! Isidro Sobranes, a sometimes LAKS instructor down south, was the fastest Mexican and took home the prize boat. Sandra Hyslop put in an amazing performance as the fastest woman in the long race and 5th overall. Full results are available on the Alseseca Race Carrera de Kayaks Facebook page.
We have a group of intermediate kayakers heading down to meet Tom on Saturday to take on some beautiful and classic Mexican runs. There are two trips in February (intermediate and strong intermediate) with space if anyone needs a last minute paddling vacation! Mexico Trips
