[WardFive] NEW COLUMBIA STATEHOOD COMMISSION WORKING GROUP KICK-OFF MEETING 5/12/2016

I hope some of you have been keeping up with all the work we are doing on the DC Statehood movement.  The New Columbia Statehood Commission has met a few times to discuss the DC Statehood movement strategy.  If you were not able to attend any of the prior Commission meetings, you can watch them on-line (see links below).  I encourage you to watch Monday’s meeting at UDC, where ANCs in attendance had a lot of questions answered.

We are working to bring full democracy to the District of Columbia by making the District of Columbian the 51st state.  I hope many of you are encouraged to participate in this historical process, starting tomorrow.  You will have plenty of opportunities to participate and contribute to the process led by DC Mayor Muriel Bowser.

Please visit:  www.statehood.dc.gov for information on how you can get involved, and to download important documents, including draft of the New Columbia Statehood Constitution.  I hope to see some of you tomorrow, and at future meetings.
