cheat_training_group Slow Grinding Death #3 Option for Sat or Sun

Hi Cheat Trainers,

If you missed the attainment this week, you missed a beautiful paddle!

Many of you have asked about doing a run on Sunday in order to support the nation's youth in protest on Saturday. I originally said no because we had an instructor's day scheduled to run the Cheat. This is to be sure the staff get some extra practice in so we can be faster than our clients in the race. However, the road to the Cheat takeout is more dubious than ever and we are postponing our trip. TLDR, you have an option to run the downriver either Saturday or Sunday.

We will meet at Sycamore tomorrow at 9 am for our normal Cheat Downriver. OR Sunday, you can meet Steve-O at 9 am at Sycamore. Please reply to let me know whether you will take the Sunday option. We want to be sure to have the right amount of staff and shuttle.

Week 3 we will be running some longer sections of river to focus on endurance and pacing. An important thing to work on in your long boat is conserving energy by being sure that all the force created by your paddle strokes is being pushed through your feet to drive your boat forward. Any little side to side motion or when your stern is not following your bow is wasted energy. Work on making corrections without killing your momentum. Notice what happens when you push forward with your foot on the same side as your paddle stroke.

We will divide up again into groups- the Baddass Butterflies, the Sea Cucumbers, and the CHEATahs.

Week 4 is set up as a race- with a mass start below Rocky, paddling straight through to Sycamore. Get psyched!

See you guys tomorrow, possibly!
