Guys, tomorrow is our last Potomac Downriver. This week should be feeling less like a Grinding Death. As you paddle, remember what it felt like the first week and see whether you have greater endurance and more control over your long boats now.
For the early group, Steve-O will pick you up at 7 at Sycamore. Bobby, Jen and Mike will be your instructor group.
For everyone else, meet at 9 at Sycamore. We will paddle down to Rocky together and line up for a mass start below Rocky. Your challenge is to paddle non stop to Sycamore. Steve-O will be there at the end yelling out your time.
This is your last week to drop into Open Rolling in the pool. If you haven't worked on your roll much this winter, or if you have done some swimming in the past month, this is a good time to do some practice before you hit the Cheat!
Speaking of the Cheat, now is the time to start hawking the gauge and speculating what the levels will be. Here is a link to the Cheat Gauge at Albright: https://waterdata.usgs.gov/usa/nwis/uv?03070260 You subtract 10.1 to get the bridge gauge level. Right now it's 1.5 which is super low. Also helpful is the Keelhaulers gauge which can provide some prediction: https://www.keelhauler.org/khcc/cheatcalc.htm Rain is predicted in Albright next weekend.
