[WardFive] Re: [Brookland] Uber Cab in Jeopardy

Hello Eric,

I can appreciate the cheekiness and the privacy of this question, but it is real talk!!  I hope that you don't mind but I will take advantage of our good, sometimes adversarial but respectful relationship and share this with our Communities.

I don't have an issue with none of those businesses (MM or Strip Clubs).  While I don't need MM and don't use regular Marijuana, I don't see the harm in people being eased from pain of suffering from sickness or easing the everyday pain of just life.  This is a stressful life for the educated and good salaried employed much less lower salaried and unemployed folks.  Marijuana makes everyone peaceful and if one feels like they need that to relax, they should be able to smoke some weed.  I have known people smoking weed all my life (much more than the average person) and never saw an instance of violence from them because of WEED.  Actually, it would probably lower crime rate if some of our criminally inclined folks would be allowed to smoke.  The reality is that I would much rather see them use Weed than Alcohol.  Anyways, I just don't need that or much alcohol in my life.
As for Strip Clubs, I don't have the problem with strip clubs.  I have been before and enjoy them and while I haven't been in about 4 years, I would go again.  I just don't have the time.  As a matter of fact, the Stadium is partially owned/managed by Damian who has been a friend of mine for maybe 24 years now.  I went to the walk through with the Commissioners here in Ward 5 so that I could see first hand their issues if they had any.  Good to see that they were fine as I saw none myself.  If I had to, I would have supported Damian/The Stadium on that not because he is a friend but because they are people who enjoy Stripclubs and that should also be a service provided to residents.  However, this is not to say that I am not aware of the hard Drugs and prostitution that is either involved or hovering in/around all strip clubs which will seep over into the clientele and the community that the establishments are located in.  And that's why other CM's and their Constituents don't want them in their community.   And just as it is a concern for them, it is a concern for us but somehow it seems that we over here are not as important - and that is what the concern is all about!

The issue that I have with both MM and Strip Clubs is that this should be spread all over the City but of course, CM's of other areas are not going to allow for that.  Like Debbie Smith said, CM Alexandar said LOUDLY - NO - they are not putting this Barn on our green space, but yet she is fighting for the tracks to service her Ward. Somehow, it is OK to put on our Green Space - hypocritical and yes - Our CM, inexperience or "cool" - her adamant approach is not his approach.  I say MAN UP and start stepping on some toes.  I didn't hear her say NO to our Green Space/School Lawn and I didn't hear Kenyan say NO either.

If you are going to VOTE for something, then you need to be open to having it in your WARD.  If you are going to want to drink alcohol inside/outside at Lauriel Plaza or in Adams Morgan or on H Street or anywhere, then allow for it in your own ward.  Like I said, there are a bunch of Hypocrites, Selfish and Self Serving people here and all that that Bull Sh** about community and togetherness and love and care and Yoga is just some garbage that makes them feel good about themselves - that's why those who don't like me, really don't like me - I identify their inconsistencies and their contradicting ideoloqy of life and it bothers them.  It is not that I am wrong but like I said, hypocritical.  Remember - in situations when anger/emotions are not involved but when logic doesn't prevail, there must exist a presence of racism, sexism, fear, selfishness, elitism, imperial previlege, etc.  It is hard looking at the mirrors of life, admitting the position of self and making the adjustments - that means you are wrong and/or have wronged someone or a community so instead, often times, positions are cemented and it takes hammers and axes to do what simple water (Knowledge and Experience) or WD40 (Invective, Whiny Smart Ass) could have been allowed to do.

Notice I didn't mention my youth and their schools, etc and the ______ ____ because I didn't want to be called "Whiny Smart Ass" or have my obviously educated friend RobbyCU not see the correlation again for whatever reason that blocks his and others intellectual vision.

Rob (saying this tongue in cheek), based on your argument for consistency in thinking and since you are in support of all of our needs being serviced - one could deduce that you are in support of more strip clubs and medical marijuana in Ward 5 :)
